A member of the ticket office of the New England Free Jacks (rugby team based out of Quincy). Josh spoke to the Quincy club last week and is interested in speaking to our club. He is working with the Quincy club to have a Rotary Day at a game later in their season. He is planning on inviting all the clubs in MA to come to the game.
My name is Josh Beck and I am the Ticketing Manager for the New England Free Jacks. I first got involved wiht the team when they were founded in 2019, and worked my way up from part time marketing, to game day operations, to ticket sales representative and then Ticket Sales Manager. I first started playing rugby in High School and still do to this day so it has always been a huge passion of mine. Being able to take that passion and use it to help grow a new sports team, develop the rugby community in Massachusetts, and see the progress the sport and Free Jacks have made has been incredible to see. Rugby is a game for everyone and that is reflected by both the type of players and by the people who make up our passionate community. We at the Free Jacks want to leave a mark on the field but have an even bigger impact on the community off the field. |

Tuesday April 22nd New England Free Jacks game 7pm Veterans Memorial Stadium Hancock St Quincy
Quincy Rotary Club will have a tent set up at Pagent Field near the gazebo at 5pm for food and drinks (this is in lieu of their Tuesday afternoon meeting). 6:45pm they will head to the stadium for the match. Inside there will be a tent for gathering and socializing or fans can wander and view the match at their leisure in the stadium. Tickets are discounted to $25 but I will need a count so I can reach out to the Quincy President Elect Duke Whitney to get them (there is a link to purchase tickets but they are currently having issues with it so I prefer to handle with Duke until certain link is working properly).
John Krietz also mentioned meeting at Drifters (restaurant near the stadium) before the game as his buddy is the owner. So options for people attending.
This is all the details that I have. These matches are great entertainment (regardless of the weather) so I hope some Rotarians come out for some socializing with the Quincy club and enjoy an entertaining evening of trying to figure out what is happening on the field during a Rugby match. LOL!!!
Thanks, Dave |
