BHS Athletic Director

James Arsenault is the Public Works Director, Town of Braintree.  He will speak on DPW History and Projects.

Bio:  James graduated with BS Degree in Civil Engineering in 1988.  He obtained his pilots license, obtained professional engineering licenses in MA, FL and WA.  Worked for private companies, state government and local government as well.  Belongs to many organizations over the years including Rotary, Demology (Masonic Lodge), American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Public Works Association, Mass Highway Association, etc.

David Olds, Volunteer and Donor Relations, Good Sports, Inc.

Bio:

David Olds is a new Boston resident that joined Good Sports, Inc. in June 2022 as a Volunteer and Donor Relations Associate. David graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2022, where he was a student athlete on the Division I Track and Field team. Previously, David had experience working with financial empowerment and opportunity creation through the Columbia Urban League Young Professionals, the 2020 Census, the City of Columbia, and the Minority and Small Business Affairs team at the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

Topic:  Equitable Access in Youth Sports and Good Sports, Inc.

Good Sports Inc. is a non-profit with the mission of driving sports equity and opportunity for children in underserved communities. There is a large equipment and access gap in sports, where lower income communities have less meaningful opportunity to play all sports and experience the great benefits that come with being involved in physical activity. We accomplish this through the donation of brand-new sports equipment to high-need community organizations, sports programs, and schools. Equipment partners, like Nike and Under Armour, provide us with all of the sports equipment we store in our warehouse, and we identify or encourage community partners across the country to apply for equipment donations. Since 2003, we have donated 88 million dollars in sports equipment to help get 9 million kids in underserved communities across the country in the game.

Melissa Kaye, President & Executive Director, Joshua Kaye Foundation.

Melissa has a background in fundraising, event planning, youth leadership, volunteer organizing, and business ownership. She and her family founded Joshua Kaye Foundation after the loss of 8 year old Joshua in 2014. 

Joshua Kaye Foundation enables thoughtful, community-based projects while empowering youth to make positive change in their community. 

Founded in memory of Joshua Kaye, JKF works to eliminate hunger, spread literacy, and provide educational and enrichment opportunities for children in need, through various projects throughout the year. Providing opportunities for youth to serve and positively impact the community is a major focus.

Timothy Massawe, the past President Rotary Club of Hai-Kilimanjaro Tanzania. He also served as an Assistant Governor in District 9214. He will share with us information about Rotary in Tanzania and the work that they do and also to learn about our club.
