Abby Parrilla-Sarria

Abby has been an executive member of The Arc team since 2017 as chief operations officer, coming to the agency with a strong background that includes: in-patient social services at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, business development and management for PepsiCo, as well as executive leadership for the Massachusetts Aging Services Access Points and management consulting and operations for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is also a trained mediator and has served as a motivational speaker. Abby earned her undergraduate degree in English and has a master’s in both business administration and human resources management. She is bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and since 2019 has been a proud member of the Leadership South Shore Steering Committee. Abby has tremendous passion and energy that infuses all she does. Most importantly, she has a passion for advocacy and human rights. Abby is honored to represent The Arc in the capacity of CEO, and she is committed to elevating the agency’s culture and mission, as a vocal advocate for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism and their families.

In collaboration with BELD for Power Week, we will be cooking and serving a pancake breakfast for our seniors at the Department of Elder Affairs.

There will be two seatings:  8:00 - 9:15 and 9:30 - 10:30.

Volunteer shifts will be available starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00.  You may sign up for any length of time you want!

Meeting with Newton and Milton @ Braintree, possibly having Foundation Chair Steve Certa Present.

Dear Marybeth:

I attended the meeting of the Abington Rotary Club and became the guest speaker!

There are nine members of the Club and all nine were there.  The President is Judi McCabe.

All members of the Club are 100% in favor the joint meeting, have put it on their calendars, and are looking forward to it.

I discussed suggestions for a program, and they were in favor of these also.  I will get back to you on that.

I will be the speaker at this meeting and will do the program and program booklet.

They are working on a fundraiser, selling tickets to an event where a young lady will roll play "Lady Di".  I asked that they send the information, etc., to me so that I could in turn send it to the appropriate members of Braintree Rotary.  I said that I could not commit to anything, only to forwarding the information, in that it would be an executive board decision, etc., and everyone fully understood that.
